That Canyon is winning.
Out of interest, how did you and the customer arrive at that particular design?

He sent me a photo of a polished concrete worktop, and said he wanted some details like the Joy Division Unkown Pleasures album cover, but a bit different.

that is something different level of paintjob....

Polished concrete on a bike is a huge leap, that’s a great concept. Must be super when someone brings you something that you can get your teeth into.

@hoops I've kept up with your work on instagram for a while and everything you produce is awesome but the Canyon is on another level entirely! probably a close second favourite to the Ralph Steadman inspired Specialized. Keep it up!

Many thanks!
The Gonzo Specialzed was one of my favourites too. Wish I could have kept it!

I hadn't seen this thread, top notch stuff on here!! I've been telling myself that if I ever need a career change, it'll be this, custom paintings.
On a less skilled note, I've sprayed a few frames at home using tamiya spray paints and spraymax 2k clear coating..
NJS inspired two-tone:

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4417/35899846193_39863fdd25_b.jpgI'm currently looking for ideas/inspiration for this cookie frame after being caught in a fire, I was thinking two tone fades, with one of them being hot pink.
Also looking for ideas on the yellow c'dale, it's been 3 years and I think I'd like something more elaborate, out of the ordinary.

How are those Tamiya paints holding up over time?
-
• #367
They're not the best but they hold up ok if you give the frame a good base coat and at least 2 layers of clear coat

Latest Islabike custom paint job as delivered on Christmas day. The blobs on the headtube badge are of course runs, but I'm passing them off as embellishments. It was well received, at any rate.
