All feedback indicates that they make a very much appreciated seasonal calling card. -

@BastianBalthazarBux, Crumble topped?
That's a winning combination.
And within striking distance of Forest Hill...

Just picked up some Tesco finest mincers. Pretty great actually. Pastry is nice and snappy and, over all, not as sickly sweet as some. The brandy is pretty subtle but it’s there.
A solid 5/7.

My second of the year: had some of the Konditor & Cook yesterday and today. They're rather good, but I feel overly reliant on very buttery pastry. I don't object to that particularly, and it didn't cloy like some can. But I prefer the mincemeat to be the differentiating factor.

Yeah they've been my staple this year, filling's a bit soft for me: I prefer them properly dense but the flavour's there and the pastry is good. Working my way through a box of the sainsburys taste the difference tonight and they're nowhere near as good. Texture is there but they just taste like sugar.

Oops! No plain flour in the house, thought I could get away with self-raising with a bit of bread flour to pad it out, but they appear to have turned into vol au vents! Ah well, they smell great. For some reason I'm not allowed to eat them all myself so a taste report will have to wait until tomorrow evening, where there's some sort of festive date to celebrate.
Merry Crimbo!

Vegan (Heart) & standard mince pie from proper (35 years) baker in Ruislip Manor.
Pastry is in different league from supermarkets.
Thin, but the ratio of filling to pastry is spot on. Served with natural low fat yoghurt after 30 seconds in the microwave.

Made do with some (Aussie supermarket chain) Coles mincers for pudding tonight. Abysmal. Soft pastry and not enough filling.
Number three was better when I ditched custard and mashed some Gorgonzola into the top but still poor.

Anyone else have a Brickhouse mince pie? Pastry was the best I've ever had in a mincer, but the filling was a little underwhelming in comparison. Good, but not superlative.
I also stole/was gifted some brandy clotted cream from work which went down a treat, even with Sainsbury's own.
As an added aside, this has been the best thread on the forum for a good couple of months.

I finished off my K&C stash yesterday. I think that's the end of the season for me. Sad times.

I have 2 left in the cupboard but once they've gone that's is the end.
No more. Nada. Niente.

Same here. Said goodbye to the last of the Tesco’s ones yesterday. Until next year...

No mincers in Morrisons today, so it's farewell sweet prince until next year. Wait loss thread will have to wait until I've finished the Christmas cake in the cupboard. And the panettone. Oh, and the panforte.
I now have two boxes stashed for festive 500 fuelling...
