Looks way too big for you. Have you considered a frame that fits you and that isn’t likely to spontaneously separate from the forks?

It's stable -though I'm going to Loctite everything in the near future.
Definitely big on me. I've got an inch or so stand-over clearance.
Proper geometry considerations or minor-to-major flaws aside - it's a beater. Likely destined to become a work/polo bike by summer time.

Looks quite polo ready as it is.
Where are you based then?

There's a great polo scene there and there's a dream court which I hope to play on one day!

disc spok? I am intrigued

I think it's quite easy to convert rear threaded spesh/hed 3 to 100mm.
Then you can screw a disc adaptator such as this one: -

Front and rear are identical, at least on my Specialized tri-spoke, still have them and could probably get a snap to show what I mean...

The pit is legendary man. Serious shit goes down there every Sunday.
I'm gonna be out there on Sunday and will try to snap y'all some of the pics of the rad beaters and polo bikes that are usually around.
On the subject - is this re?

my Donohue is getting really rusty in places. It's got some huge patches on the seat tube and seat stays. What's the best way to deal with it? Rub the surface rust off, check the frame underneath is ok, spray lacquer over it?

It has survived the aspokalypse.
Now a singlespeed workbike killer.

I'm finding traditional (i.e. spirit based) varnish is holding up well on an old Vindec with more rust patches than paint - a couple of coats applied with a decent brush gives a far greater thickness than you'll find time to apply with a spray can, no overspray to deal with, and no issues with water vapour condensing in the spray and giving a cloudy finish.
I used Norver polyurethane satin, picked up at a car boot sale at £2 a tin - not exactly clearcoat, but good enough for an elderly rat that mostly lives in a barn.
That sounds safe.
