I've got a Specialized Hardrock Comp in red/purple which is currently set up as a fixed gear commuter, but I'd be willing to sell you the frame/forks, headset (pretty beat), working BB, possibly Sugino crankset, pair of Canti brakes, Wheelset with tyres, Stem, Seatpost, Deore rear mech, and a suntour xce front mech if you want it.

I have a Saracen protrax with a full stx groupset that could be perfect.
I was planning on doing the same thing, but know I'll never get round to it.
Hi, I'm after a 1990s MTB, Trek, Marin, Specialized, etc 17 inch frame or thereabouts. I'm thinking about converting it to a "road" bike (fitting drop bars and STi shifters) to make a "bombproof" commuter. Is this a daft idea? I just don't want to wreck anything decent when I start a new job in the new year. All help and feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks
