Darumas are designed to snug the fender right to the underside of the fork, I think the current penchant for more closely following the tire profile means that people are using them on bikes that they may not be appropriate for. If you shortened the daruma, snugged the fender and adjusted all other distances to match (because matching) would that solve the noise, or am I reading you wrong?
So I came here to ask about stopping a daruma moving/rattling about like fuck. Seems so lo-fi to have to stack and pack tons of washers everywhere to keep it still, and then there's the problem of the daruma swinging/rotating on the brake bolt axis.
I fucking hate darumas they cause more problems than they solve.
