Cheers @hoefla - ha, making a record cover for a band I love (or at least supplying the image) is on my list
@shinkuu_kiss ..also like the first one. By the way do you make prints of your stuff?

Just getting back in to talking photos with a proper camera (and not my phone).
First and last with a canon rangefinder, middle with a really crappy canon point and shoot that I quite like.
Not up to the standard of most on here but I felt lame commenting and getting advice without posting.

Really like the middle one.
Great muted but special light, and the water looks peculiar, in a good way. -

Yeah it looks really odd. Everything looks a bit out of shape.

I've never bothered making prints... there's actually a rental darkroom a couple of minutes down the road from me which would be fun to try but a. it's expensive b. most of my negs would be difficult to print traditionally c. I don't have any space to keep prints or any use for them really...

I like both. I like the strangeness of the first one, the way the shadow lines up with the building and the traces of creeper that you can only really see in the shaded area. But the second one is just nice, and sort of comforting, the texture of the ginko leaves and the granite.

a. it's expensive
b. most of my negs would be difficult to print traditionally
c. I don't have any space to keep prints or any use for them really.....this isn't aimed at you solely but at quite a few talented people in here -
yeah I of course know what you mean, still it's meant to be printed, is it not?
It just sucks when people scrolling down your work on their phones is the final outcome of it all.
So yea..a) ..it is expensive - but it's worth it. Also hybrid workflow isn't really that costly (see 'b')
b) ..to be completely honest I don't know shit about colour printing. I saw some great work done by hand - but matter of fact I also saw quite a lot of analogue colour prints (done by a pro lab, printed from 6x7 negs shot on Mamiya 7's) that simply impressed me a lot less than giclée prints I ordered online.
My point being that while I realize it's "not the same" hybrid (analog-digital) workflow / inkjet-prints done properly on high quality paper definitely has its merits and can look really good - and can be had for just a few bucks.c) we should make a zine / book. Also I'm open for print swaps!

Yeah, the price is frustrating for both. Think I’m veering towards mju ii for the durability. What other non hyped point and shoots would you recommend?
Olympus Trip 35 ? Can pick them up for £30-40, and £60ish CLA'd. Love mine, only problem I have with it it it's limited ISO to 400 only

had that idea too, the book thing, I mean
almost nobody prints colour now, as its rather complicated (temperature...), b&w is different though, can do that for almost nothing, in Berlin at least -
• #15264
..where would you do b&w prints in Berlin?

I used to go to Jugendkunstschule Pankow (others around, too)
now Weinmeisterhaus http://weinmeisterhaus.de/programm/fotografie-video/ -

..thanks - should say hello when I'm in the area next time.
By the way here's a DIY print shop, not bad for inkjet-based fine-art prints: http://www.dmage.net

I'm well up for a zine

• #15268
That's fine! I'll keep my eye out for one.
My Zenit SLR broke a while ago - looking for a different SLR now too. Buying old cameras on eBay is getting a bit addictive.

Scanned in my images from Stockholm last night.
Seems like my OM-2n was massively underexposing when left to its own devices.
OM-2n/28mm F2.8 on Ilford HP5 @1600. Developed in DDX and scanned with my digital camera.

I dropped my trip yesterday, with about 5/6 shots left on the roll. Only from a small height but it burst open, am I likely to have killed the already used roll?
-
• #15274
..the already-used part of the roll was exposed to light?
-
• #15275
depends how light it was and how quickly you shut it again... you'll have killed the 3 shots along the back of the camera ('current', previous, next) but the 5 left in the canister will be ok, and the 29 already shot... will be affected but you'd be surprised how much you get, might only be the previous 1 or 2, then the earlier ones look ok (rolled tight inside).
Nice. Feels like a book/record cover or something.
