• My guess is you won't be hearing from him again.

  • Yup. He hasn’t replied to me in 9 days or so about meeting up.

  • Worth getting the drop out replaced? Not sure how much that would cost. My local place is Argos which is tippy top, but pricey.

  • Yeah true but might be more money than it’s worth. I think the best option is to strip the frame Of parts and try making money by putting it on a new frame....preferably an uncracked one lol ☝🏼

  • Get a quote from Winston Vaz at Varonha Cycles.

His brother Mario operates has a spray shop on the same premises.

  • It won't be that expensive to replace, but you'll need to repaint.

I still don't get how could you not see it's a crack and not paint chip. It's so clear. Just but sliding your finger on it should've been enough.

Anyway it's a Olmo, ask for a quote for the dropout. It might be worth it.

  • It’s got to be worth repairing to end up with a nice beater, rather than try and flog the components. I don’t recon you’d get much for them. The value here is in the frame surely

  • Yeah true. I’ll look at both options and get some quotes for the frame.

  • Sweet cheers dude I’ll look into it 🤘🏼

  • Yep will do. My guess is around £50 and then with paint etc will be more...might be worth keeping as a ratty beater/single speed conversion to bang about London on.

  • Argos cycles in Bristol will replace a drop out for 95 quid, but I would imagine that’s your top end, price-wise

  • vaz does a pair of DOs for £90 I think then you could rattle can it

  • @Velocio Let’s get @Frankie.L on the bad traders list.
He’s still not responding to me at all. Refund won’t happen even though it was promised! Let’s end the year positively and close this case off ✌🏼

  • I'll make it simpler, if he's not responded within 24 hours I'll just ban him :)

If a trader is so bad as to sell a cracked and dangerous frame whilst claiming it's fine and not fulfilling a refund, they don't deserve to be on here.

  • I like to think of that as a treat and not a punishment.

  • @Frankie.L has been banned on all of the sites I run, and his access tokens revoked. Basically he can no longer log in.

  • you may want to try repairing the crack with fibrefix repair tape - you can get it from toolstation for about 6 quid.
