I never bike in my good jeans. Expecting 100% cotton jeans to survive cycling is crazy.
You're not paying for durability unfortunately and especially not if you're biking regularly in them. If you wanted durable work jeans they'd have some stretch, be heavier weight, and fit loosely around the ass and crotch. AKA Carhartt.
If you want jeans to walk around in all day, stretch is the wat to go. There are plenty of good looking stretch jeans.
Raw denim is not a daily all day on the bike item. Mine last a decade.
Again, I darn then before the issue also. I darn both knees, crotch, and under the point parts of the pockets.
