    You can usually deposit it into your bank account for no charge (then take the money out from a cashpoint). Most branches are happy to do this if you've already bagged it up, and as long as there aren't big queues.

    The Coinstar machines in places like Sainsbury's take a chunk (5% or 10%) as a fee. It can still be worth it if you want minimal hassle and enjoy the sound of rattling coins.

    Most Metro bank branches have coin counting machines that are free to use even if you're not a Metro bank customer.
