Right folks, I've braved the icy cold and been out and downed two of the Tesco Finest brandy infused jobs. Gotta say, while they are certainly sweet, they're probably the best mass produced mincer I've had. Pastry - good, filling - deep, size - ideal three munch and you're done.
Got four left for tomorrow too. Happy times.

Yeh. The window. And I spread the mix too thin in the tray. Anyway i've smashed them in a Tesco carrier bag ( 10/10 for strong bag Tesco) with a rolling pin and now I've got Xmas granola. And the feckers will eat it or father Xmas will not etc etc etc

Popped into Konditer & Cook. Observed a mincer pricing anomaly:
1 mincer = £1.60
6 mincer = £10
12 mincer = £15Perhaps the 6 deck was more because it had a ribbon round it but as you can't eat ribbon, I discounted this option and bought 12.
They are good. Eaten 3 so far as they are quite small. Pastry to filling ratio is strong.

Lidl luxury - the fill isn't overly generous, so the gap appears, but otherwise solid. 8/10

Late to the party, and now only exist as a picture, as they're nearly all gone...

Morrisons in-store bakery all-butter deep-fill (£1.70/4): though from one of the big labels, these bangers are my release of the year so far; deep fill, good pastry, mincemeat not too sweet and well-spiced.

I've a blind (drunk) taste testing going on in front of the fire with every possible variety that M&S do. Nothing yet to beat the current fave which is Co Op Irresistible all butter. Lovely tart mincemeat and just the job with homemade sloe gin (hic)

If you go to Konditor & Cook with an Xmas jumper on today they'll give you a free mince pie and donate money to charity.

I'm trying to figure out why I don't like mincemeat. I like candid fruits that have been soaked in ginger wine. Then made in to panetone. Enjoy the pasty when made with either Lard or Dripping as the fat in the mix.

If you're careful you can easily eat 2 pies' worth from the free samples they have on the counter...without having to wear a ridiculous jumper

Pleasantly impressed with Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected’ offering. The thick buttery pastry performed it’s role brilliantly as the vessel for some very tasty concnac infused mincemeat. The perfect ratio of filling and not overly sweet. Light dusting of icing sugar (I think) on top with some impressive crimping of the pastry lid. To top it off, literally, the snowflake detailing on the lid was simply charming.
I quite like the concrete ones. You're forced to savour them.
