Yes, haven't you followed the 'new page fail' controversy?
Posts are numbered sequentially after those by people you have on ignore are ruled out of the thread. This used to be different on vBulletin, which is why people still say 'new page fail' about something they've just posted if it appears on a 'new page' and they haven't quoted or 'replied to' so that it lacks context.
