It's nearly Christmas, so it must be time for another custom-painted Islabike frame. This time I didn't bother stripping the factory paint myself, but took it to a man round the corner who does sandblasting. He stripped the paint within 24 hours for a whole £20 for the frame and forks, and while the finish wasn't perfect, it's good enough for my ham-fisted efforts. This is where I've got to so far:
The red bits aren't really red - they're pearlescent pink. And although the picture doesn't show it that well, the front and rear have lots and lots of turquoise pearl. There are huge numbers of mistakes and blips, but hopefully nothing that a 5 year old will notice.
