Yes, however apparently there are 9 iterations of column, of which mine is the first- remarkable for being non-PSM and both non-grounded and non-groundable (plastic bushings used throughout).
Options are to replace the entire column or plan b. We're going for plan b- a spacer for that original wheel.

This can’t be the first time a new steering wheel has been fitted to a 996.
