Ah, ok. It looks great - nice work!
I thinned out the branding on my straggler with a hairdryer and an ikea family card. Just got the downtube and top tube stickers left. -

2wheels Good in N16 have some discounts on Surlys, incl. small Steamroller, 56 roller, 56 Pacer and a few others.

So I got my Straggler all built up and loving every minute of it! But I need some knoppy tires for when the winter kicks in and turns everything into slush. I got the 650b version, so what are my best options here?

Looking at the geometry chart, it’s very different To the cross-check/straggler, steeper head angle mean it’s the quickest handling road bike Surly made.
What bother me is that it’s not disc, which doesn’t make much sense given that’s there’s a lots of choice of MTB wheels for it.
Surly stick to their stupid geometry sizing as usual.

I just don't bother with this bike in my size the wheel is 26", if i want a 26"rim brake frame i will be looking for old cheap mtb.
Yes it's a diferent geometry adjusted for front load than a cross-check or straggler, but not different enough to make me want to buy it. I will put a front rack in my actual bike and move on -

I’m a big fan of Knards - although not 100% if they do a 650b version yet...

They have done for a while now, just a nightmare to track down.

Not so much of a nightmare anymore it would seem!

I just got a pair of Terrene Elwoods and impressed so far. Not a true nobby, but a nice in-between. Planet x had them for cheap a few weeks back

Whilst on the subject of all road tyres, any more reccomendations?
I'm setting up my cross check and my girlfriend's Brother Kepler for some off road bikepacking in spain. Both have a stated clearance of 42 and we want to be able to take on some rough stuff.
Both Knards and Elwoods look good, but the Elwoods might be a bit light and more racey.
Thoughts?

I've been rolling soma cazederos on my Kepler, and they're surprisingly quick on tarmac whilst also super knobbly on the sides. 41c I think. Only trouble is they're super pricey. Managed to get them second hand. Gravelking Sks also look pretty nifty by I haven't tried them.

The folding bead version of the Knard isn’t too hefty IMO, and they are pretty versatile - unless you’re getting into thick mud as they don’t clear fantastically. Otherwise you could go WTB Nano at a similar width?
-
• #796
They definitely are on the pricy side!
They look great, but slightly on the side of the law of diminishing returns when the WTB nano is only 35 grams heavier?

Both the Knard and nano are available for exactly the same price, and pretty reasonable too.
Anyone reckon there's something to trump them/decide a winner?

I’d check the classifieds here first, I got my current (part worn) pair from the forum for much less than list price.

Thoughts?
Look at G-One which is decent on dry condition such as Spain.
This sounds fun. I'd go double though, can't see any good reason not to?
