It's a really good game, plus the artwork is lovely.
If you want small quick games I can recommend Dobble, Loveletter and Hanabi. Dobble is definitely child friendly, the other two are logic based so it depends how much your son is into that.
They're all playable by 2 people (inc. exploding kittens), but Hanabi is better than the others in this respect. The others become quite luck oriented when played with 2, Hanabi stays great.
