How do you submit, im struggling for the word really, a report/essay/study to parliament?
Do I need some sort of petetion to submit and then the essay attached?
Do I just contact my MP with the whole thing or just an outline?
The essay isnt even close to being finished but is something Im taking quite seriously and wont be submitted for some time.Tldr; how do I get my whingey little voice heard at a parliamentary level??
What is it about? Is it about a local issue? If so, you could initially try to submit it to your local councillors. They hold surgeries and you can speak to them there. Many also publish phone numbers, but going to see them in person is usually better. Check whether you need to book for the surgery, as they can sometimes be very busy, especially if a lot of people come about the same issue.
If the Council isn't the right recipient, why do you want to submit it to Parliament? Could there be another authority who'd be a better recipient initially? Or a charity working on the same thing, if it's a nationwide issue or of a fairly general nature?
I'd only go to the MP if it's bigger than just local, or can't be worked on by councillors or some other organisation. Basically, escalate only after you've taken the initial steps, even if you know they're likely to be unsuccessful. It's important to show you've gone through due procedure.
