Last Christmas I bought my mum a chaps watch - this was because she was having trouble seeing her old watch. She had cataract surgery and can now see significantly more than she could - and now would like a smaller watch.
Her requirements are a white dial, "nice and clear face" and 2-3cm diameter.
What can people suggest?

I'd suggest a Mondaine

This looks really good. Adding an eterna to my list! The only thing that bugs me is the name. Sounds almost like a jewelery store own brand eg. Sekonda. Easy to get over tho!
Edit: just browsed site quickly. Now want a kontiki and a super kontiki.

It was Eterna who formed ETA (possibly just short for Eterna).

Hmm, interesting. So high quality without brand tax? Sounds good to me.

I couldn't decide between a super kontiki and a baby ploprof for ages.

I know what you mean. I didn't think much of them until I learned about their heritage.
Fun fact, the Eterna logo represents five ball bearings. They invented the bearing mounted rotor.

MWC watches ?? Any one got an opinion on them, place here selling them and I like that military style but I'm a watch novice, are they style over substance or worth the money??

My view is no. I bought one a few months back at a big discount and it wasn't even worth the discounted price let alone full price. Too pricey for the movement inside and bezel was loose and general finish was less than ideal.
