You'll have to pony-up for Mitutoyo if you want Tstr Approved calipers, but these received a Cursory Nod for using the commonly available CR2032, rather than the LR44 usually found in <£10 precision instruments.

those -appear- to be the same as the callipers i got at Aldi a while ago (not sure if the internals are the same though). For £8 they've been pretty useful and, as far as i can tell, accurate.

Yeah, my Aldi calipers are decent. LR44 batteries tho.

I've got the Tacklife ones, pretty happy with them. I struggled a little bit to measure a seat tube accurately with them but I think that was more to do with my technique than the calipers. Recommended.

That is the crux of the matter with calipers you need to have a "certain feel" to be able to use them accurately and consistently. The same is true of good micrometers.
