And that's exactly the problem: There are now hoops being erected that were not there before, as EU law is more generous than UK settled status.
Hoops that rely on having sickness insurance that is poorly defined, for some reason the NHS is not always counted, and some people were asked if they had private.
Hoops that rely on paperwork that you may not have as you never thought you'd need it
I agree with your 1,2,3 points btw, especially 2 is a big problem, just taking a temp job often means you are penalized. Re 1 i could not fix a car or plaster to save my life...I don't get it. And 3, totally, but higher wages also means more inflation, you could also cut costs for essentials like rent and oh, who is in government again? :)
