Probably the bike I've had including my old Engima esprit.
Just got in the post from good old wiggle Sram 11x28 cassette, chain and new black bar tape.

The Mavic Cosmics look very nice. I'd almost have gone for black tape, I guess you can try black next time. How's the ride?
A challenger has appeared, I've just bought this, having been jealous of yours for months

Funny you should say that, I've been meaning to put on my black tape for ages.
I'll be interested to see a build thread

If you view this as a competition, you should have gotten this 753 TVM for the win: https://www.marktplaats.nl/a/fietsen-en-brommers/fietsen-racefietsen/m1177444521-gazelle-tvm-racefiets-dura-ace.html?c=a2384ef0ece270f44503df9f8598c624&previousPage=lr&pos=8

Are 753 and 653 the same? I heard one was stronger and thinner walled but brittle and cracked rather than bent under extreme stress.
Posher in theory, but I like the yellow forks on mine, and the size, this looks like a 56, I'm a 54 /55.

Fair enough :) From what I understood: 753 is heat treated which made it more difficult to join since the heat during the welding process had a negative impact on the strength of the heat treated tubes. Therefore, builders had to get a licence or kind of approval from reynolds to prove that they could weld the tubes in a way that wouldn't impact their strength. Gazelle was definitely certified so I wouldn't worry. Good 753s are among the most sought after bikes. It was reynolds attempt to make a tube set of comparable strength and weight to titanium tubes, which at the time could only be glued together (that was in the early 70s). Any advice how to sort out this design flaw.
Red nail varnish or a grommet / guide?

Soon to be stripped down for winter. I will be sorting out the internal top tube routing mess over the winter.
Then build it back up with DA 7700 or something modern.
I will be selling the Dura-Ace 7410 groupset shortly. Please pm for interest.
