  • But not only that, it's much easier to abuse workers that are on visas: You can't as easily get rid off/harass EU citizens, as even with all the problems we are now having, a job is a job and you can't just suddenly be told

"oh we are cutting your wage and you are under the lower earnings now for the visa"
"sorry you have to earn 35K now"
"you want another job? too bad, because if you lose this one nobody will sponsor your work visa"

All it brings is more easily exploitable labor, and ironically one of the issues driving Brexit is that people are being undercut/exploited by UK bosses. So then they have to compete with more even easier exploitable labor, I don't see how that's going to help them.

And immigrants on visas are being squeezed more as well by the government, so voting out cos "it's unfair that EU ones get it easy" is also a huge open goal.

  • The East Europeans were coming here to pick fruit for low wages, and they aren't now. So the fruit is not being picked as the pay is not enough.

  • Exactly, as UK unemployment is low. I also read that in some places you get £10 an hour picking fruit...and people still don't want to do it.

Or they try, but are not fast enough, it is pretty hard work.
