  • FWIW I got a BT Openreach guy told off after I contacted BT about how badly he was driving up Barnsbury Rd. What really annoys me is that whenever a driver overtakes you dangerously at the south end you always catch them at the chicane.

  • I don't believe that there will be any change when the January sales are over, we are always invisible, and not only to pedestrians.

  • I mean right now it's insane.

Really annoyed my camera didn't record any of it but working just off it it's unavoidably on my way home. It's bad enough generally but right now literally everyone just walks right out in front of you. Huge crowds just deciding to start crossing the street after a bus has passed them despite me being right behind it.

  • Why would anyone cycle down Oxford St anyway? It’s a horror show on a bike.

  • do not attempt to ride a bicycle on Oxford Street

    ftfy

  • This morning I had to get the train to work, but en route to the station i passed a father taking his son to school on foot. Complete with can of booze in brown paper bag.

    Bleak/10

You should have told the father to take it off him.

  • You know you live somewhere remote when your nearest town is a hamlet called Nomansland.

  • I always enjoy riding through Nomansland near the whatsit forest down south, on the 3Down audax route.

  • Skidded again on the new bike, whilst keeping up to speed with the traffic. Back wheel fishtailed out, so let go of the brake and pedalled like fuck to regain some semblance of control. Narrowly NARROWLY avoided another tumble.

These brakes are gonna take some practice. My old bike had drum brakes, so had none of this locking the wheel business.

I fall off again in the next 6 months and my wife will destroy me.

  • Whereabouts are you? I have a mains-powered grinder here in N16.

  • I went up the climb out of Nomansland so hard during a race once, that I was sick all over my top tube at the top.

    Happy days.

  • Sotonia CC are promoting their sporting TT which finishes on that climb out of Nomansland.

    Was a lot of fun:

  • Glad to see it’s still used, given the reported hostility to cycling in the New Forest.

This was a long time ago, mid-90s I think.

  • What makes it worse is how proud Islington council are of that route. It's an official, road surface repaired , tfl quietway...

I hate it, and take Matilda to the south of hemingford.

  • AM a v posh person in massive Landrover County with the bench seats in the back driving like a dick in the bus lane all down OKR who on being asked what he was doing answered "Are you a lawyer? I'm a bus" And then you go down a wormhole of >10 seater vehicles being buses for LEZ purposes but maybe not for bus lanes. Confused.com

PM at the southbound lights on Waterloo Bridge some duffer steps off the traffic island six foot away from the crossing and trips over back wheel of someone waiting patiently at the lights and bounces his face on the tarmac. Cue him and his wife berating the bloke he fell over whilst cyclists and other peds tell him to do one for being a clumsy dick.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger rode past me on the pavement this morning as I crossed the Serpentine, he had short shorts on considering how cold it was. Still, that doesn't excuse not using the cycle path.

  • that's cool, on a Boris Bike?

  • quiet roads, excepting the clusterfuck at Amwell St, until I got within 100 yards of my workplace aaaaand...

...a youth walked out from behind a Luton van to cross the road, not looking where he was going, headbutted me side on > I went over > he vanished > still seeing stars.

Anyone got a 27" front wheel going cheap (especially if it's a Weinmann concave from BITD, this one was obviously made of cheese)

  • That road. Gnarly. Anyone remember Pizza griptape?

  • What makes it worse is how proud Islington council are of that route. It's an official, road surface repaired , tfl quietway...

I hate it, and take Matilda to the south of hemingford.

I have this feeling about a lot of cycling 'infrastructure' — very well put.

  • Flippin' freezy-cold headwind all the way in and no snow 3/10

  • Who's going to tell him otherwise? Have you seen The Terminator?!
