I'm trying to figure out how to bodge the gear cables. There's only one cable stop at the front, I was gonna cable it switch so the rear mech uses the stop and can run just inner cable through the frame. But then I would have an outer going inside for the front mech. I was sort of just hoping that the opening at the bottom bracket would be too small to fit an outer through so it acts like a stop but that's not ideal.

I could make a couple of suggestions.

If its anything to do with electronic groupsets or hydraulic brakes, keep it to yourself.
Otherwise feel free -

Single speed or magic gear fixeh conversion?
-
• #410
No need for magic gear. And Surly sell 135mm QR disc fixed hubs too. Chainline might need to be looked into.

IF chainline is an issue, you can run it on the inner chainring so 39x14 or something. You can also get the outer chainring teeth 'cut' and use the outer chainring as a chainguard ..

Or single speed with your current wheels and a single speed cog spacer kit

How can I run a front derailleur with no downtube cable stop?
-
• #419
Send it to a carbon layup specialist for gear braze ons. While there it can also be modified to take Paul brakes and possibly s&s couplers.

How was it done originally?
Perhaps with this: it looks like it has a stop on the end.
Otherwise, I've seen steerer mounted cable guides, but can't find an example. Basically a large washer (that fits under the bearing) with guides on either side. You should be able to bodge a stop/adjuster in there, as I recall the guide is just a tab that's been rolled into a tube.

How was it done originally?
di2. It had 2 cable stops out of the factory but the shop drilled one out to fit di2 for Dammit.
steerer mounted cable guides
I can't picture how this would work since the cable needs to go inside the frame where there's now just a hole instead of a stop

This might be the ticket. My hero
Also I spotted you on RCC Forum. I've just joined, know nobody, any suggestions for getting amongst it? I'm socially awkward... -

just go 1x? All you need is a narrow wide chainring ..
you have Trump hands?
