:) no as in just got it :)

I really like it but I just don’t like the idea of buying watches off eBay from the other side of the world, when there are concerns over provenance

Here’s a ‘97 G10 I can sell. Probably the cleanest I have and 100% original with no dings.

Make my an offer by PM of whatever you think is a good deal. I don't barter, so it's just a yes or a no. Can post by recorded mail for £3.40, I think.

I just impulse bought one of these on eBay for £325. The RRP is £1,595 and that is what Jura etc sell them for. Having a dig around, the generally tend to sell between £300 and £400 second hand.
Does anybody know of a worse depreciation example?!

Possibly a Ford Focus or S-class?
That's very nice though. Good catch.

True, I bought my '01 Focus Estate with 50k on it for £450 last year...

Is that where you bought it from? I've seen them on t'bay and they seem to have everything. Appears to be a legit bricks and mortar in Spain.

Nah fam, eBay...made offer on buy it now sale
-
• #24713
Yeah. That's what I meant - IguanaSell - They are the extension of a full brick and mortar and repair place in Spain.
Let me know what service is like. They occassionally have things I like on sale. I am just so wary of eBay timepieces - new or used.

Grand Seiko?

Ah, sorry. Misunderstood. No, private seller.

Still choking on the price of GS.
I'm still failing to decide which Moonwatch I want to buy btw. It's an impossible task. So many options.

Eterna were (and still are?) an excellent watch company. Up there with Omega, Zenith, Longines, etc. A lot of people’s impressions these days are just based on marketing. Looks like you got a good deal there.

I held a super kontiki a few years ago and was really impressed. I don't know much about them but as you suggest, they have a great reputation and history.

Buy boggo standard . Manual wind, plain ( not racing or anything "special") dial, hesalite crystal. That's the only true Moonwatch. Regardless of what Omega lists in the catalogue.

100% this.

If I could baby it I'd look for an old one with a tritium dial etc. in good condition; if money were no object I'd look for a calibre 321. OTOH, IMHO a moonwatch should be a tool; my fantasy plan is to get a good modern one second-hand (letting someone else take the depreciation hit) and wear the crap out of it, accepting all the dings that will come with that.
