  • Titanium Dave Lloyd Road Bike. Size is 53n top tube (c-c) and 55 seat tube (C-T)

I bought this bike a few years ago as I completely fell for the paint job. In particular the stencil work that cuts through the paint to the titanium surface. It really is a work of art. I realise it's not a fixie or SS but you guys appreciate a bit of art when you see it.

Groupset is extremely low mileage Dura Ace 7700. For example, you can still see the anodising on the inside of the teeth on the chainset! Seatpost is also Dura Ace, as are the brakes, mechs and shifters. Wheels are freshly built Mavic CXP33's with modern (but period style hubs). I can't remember the make but can remember the hubs cost £100 before building costs.

A Selle Royal saddle (in good order) and fresh, new Selle Italia Bar Tape finish the deal - making the bike look stunning!

Very minor points are a slight amount of heel rub on the non driveside crank, two small chips to the paint (worst pictured) on the top tube and the DA gear shift indicator doesn't work (the small orange doughnut that clamps around the gear inner has broken in the display). None of this distracts from the bike though.

This really is a stunning bike. Looking for £600 (at this price you'd need to arrange courier).

  • Gorgeous bike, and I wish I could justify buying it. 7700 is the best! (Hope you are ready for comment on cross-posting!)

  • Cross posting... what have I done? (and I'll do my best to fix it!) :)

  • Oh, I see... can't post it on Retrobike simultaneously.

Let me have a think which ad to pull... Struggling to host pics on RB but able to do here...

Might have to get a friendly face to post the RB ad in your "Ebay section"

  • Uff, this is lovely, if I didn't had an Isen coming...
Silly question, Forks Ti? Doubt it is but just want to know hehe

  • Lovely

  • Forks are also Ti... Should have said!

  • Indeed. So lovely that I think I might have to check my bank balance.

  • It's even better in the flesh Ludd...

  • Getting more interest here, so will pull the RB ad. Might take a bit as I think i need a Mod to do it...

  • Jeesaws, full ti then. How'd the front end ride like?

  • Lovely GLWS

  • To be honest it's very similar to a steel fork... might have a little more damping effect... making the ride that tiny bit softer.

  • OMG - nicest bike on here for a while - love that!

Sadly no £'s in the kitty at the moment so GLWS!

  • Still here!

  • Was this a Dave Lloyd build or was it subbed out to someone else @RetroRingo ?

  • That paint (and bare sections) - ooof!

  • Seriously, it is stunning when seen in the flesh (metal!).

  • I don't know... is the easy answer (and Dave is reticent about answering enquiries!). For a long time, I thought the frame had been subbed out but I found a picture of a mountain bike frame that had dropouts with a Strange fonted "A" that is identical to this the mark on the drop outs of the Lloyd, so that led me to wonder whether he'd just bought the dropouts in.
A big clue may be that the BB shell is Italian threaded.
Needs to go... Make an offer!!!!
