• My commute these days consists of walking to and from school.

I'm pretty involved with school, particularly with road safety stuff. I'm also the chair of our PTA and Parent's Forum, so feel relatively well mandated to have a polite word with any car drivers who park in illegal and dangerous places around school. Double parking, on the yellow zig zags etc. It's usually begrudgingly well received and I get the feeling that things are getting better.

Yesterday I spoke to the driver of a car that had parked in the zig zags, politely pointing out that her parking was illegal and dangerous and also that there were many legal spaces less than 50m up the road. She totally blanked me. I asked her if she felt selfish? Blanked me. So I took a picture of her car, and her, making sure the registration plate was visible. I informed her that I could report her to the police. Nothing. I left and did nothing.

This morning, she drove past me and shouted out of the window "Did you report me to the police then?". Obviously she drove off without waiting for a reply. I think she was laughing but couldn't be sure.

    It annoyed me.

I reported her to roadsafe, who subsequently contacted me and asked for the pictures. Which I have supplied.

No need to be rude, is there?
