I've bought a new bike on Cycle Scheme so want to sell on this bike.
It's a 2014 Genesis Equilibrium with Reynolds 725 frame and carbon forks. When it was released the reviews said things such as,
the Equilibrium is arguably one of the best all-rounders on the market
One of it's cons was the heavy wheelset which I have improved by replacing with the 3T Accellero 40 wheels which spin forever and make a nice noise compared to the originals. This is a really nice bike to ride, although the 25mm tyres aren't as wide as the current trends, this bike provides similar comfort to my new aluminium alloy bike with 35c tyres. While I certainly didn't make a habit of it, I have ridden it on a little bit of fire road and single track when I was lost in Devon and it was amazing how well it coped.
This was one of very few bikes I've bought brand new and I have taken good care of it as a result, it's been well maintained, never crashed properly, but unfortunately had a couple of low speed falls which resulted in a scraped rear skewer, scratched up levers, and a bit of grazing on the bar tape. These aren't massively noticeable and could be covered up quite easily with a sharpie. I haven't done this as I wanted any potential buyer to be able to clearly see any defects to be able to make their own mind up. There are also a couple of tiny paint chips, as a result of careless locking up.
Spec is as follows, where modified it's in italics:
Frame: Reynolds 725 50cm
Fork: Carbon/Alloy
Grooupset: Shimano 105 10sp
Brakes: Shimano BR-R451 (non 105 for the mudguard and tyre clearance) I have upgraded the brake pads and holders in an attempt to improve braking and they have made some difference
Wheels: 3T Accellero 40 (11sp compatible)
Tyres : Challenge Strada Biancha Gumwall 25mm
Bars/Stem: Genesis
Bartape: Fizik Soft Touch 3mm
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Black/Red
Seatpost: Genesis 0.3 Road 27.2mm
Mudguards: SKS Longboards - the front has snapped just below the stay, which means it still provides adequate coverage, but no longer exceptional coverage.
This is the only pic I have at the moment but can and will post more
SOLD TO A HAPPY CUSTOMER. THANKS FOR LOOKING.
