  • I'm 100% sure you should make that into a bottle opener.

    Needs a handle.

  • that's pretty smart. i've no intention of having mine removed unless it starts giving me grief.

still so happy i made the decision to get it plated. i'm able to lift weight at the gym like i've never been injured.

  • Anyone experiencing pain years after a break? Fractured mine four years ago but recently it's aching a lot and getting genuinely painful when I cough. Feel like I'm getting ill though so probably a factor...
Never had any surgery on it so it's not like any metal is giving me gyp.

  • Mrs TW just fractured the head of her humerus - on a cycle path, on a hospital, taxi and ambulance free island.

In the up side, our 16 month old enjoyed the resulting trip in a fire service ambulance, particularly when we went neenaw neenaw.

The late Sunday afternoon ortho consult first thought surgery, but then settled on immobilisation. For 2 months.

We'll visit my favourite ortho when we're back in the UK next week, after we finish our holiday.

  • Anyone had a steroid injection in their Sternum before?

  • No, but I'm having steroid jab no. 2 in my elbow next week in another attempt to clear up my tennis elbow injury. The last one hurt like buggery afterwards, so you may well feel the same after yours. The sternum is technically a joint; my missus has psoriatic arthritis and her sternum gets painful too. Good luck.

  • Hopefully the pain is worth it then! Im getting it at 4pm on a Friday so at least i have to weekend to cry about it.

  • Oh hai. Never realised how impressively painful this would be. Morphine is good.

  • Ouch! You had a spill?

  • Yeah. Doored on Southwark bridge approach. Surgery in the morning. Bike ok!

  • Ouch! Take it easy - I was surprised how much recovery took it out of me when I broke mine a few years ago.

  • Ouch. The op should help the healing process.

    Enjoy the morphine.

  • Heal fast, don't take anti-inflamatories!

  • It must have been bad if they are operating straight away. Heal up fast man! sleeping sitting up was the toughest thing for me to handle.

  • Get better soon, MrSweary.

  • Ta all. The decided to operate because the ends are so far apart! Now they've told me to go home and they'll call when they have a slot...

Best part of the whole experience was the tipper truck driver who hopped out to call me all sorts of names and offer dashcam footage to the driver of the cab I was doored by. Fucking sterling example of cunthood.

  • Well, home now with a big bag of paracetamol and codeine and a couple of bottles of morphine awaiting the call.

Also wishing I hadn't read back over this thread!

  • .

  • Get a court order for the footage...

    Heal up soon.

  • I have cycliq footage of the whole event. The polis told me the cab driver had admitted everything plus I have a couple of helpful witnesses who stopped. Also think the cycliq will have footage of the ranting truck driver too, which should be good for a laugh.

  • Post it in the firm's twitter.

And hammer frozen sausages into the truck.

  • ^this, but check with the police first that it's ok to make footage public in case it affects the prosecution.
