  • Yay. It's Screason® again.
First up Detroit and Guardians of the Galaxy II for this weekend.

  • Paddington 2 very good! Scene running through the London pop up book had me spellbound. Fun for all the family etc.

  • Ingrid Goes West and Battle of the Sexes are very enjoyable. Justice League was trash as expected.

  • What Happened to Monday.

    So bad.

    So very, very bad.

  • Galaxy Guardians 2 has been out ages ain't it?

  • Enjoyed Thor very much. Taka's brilliant sense of humour shines throughout - how the hell did he get himself directing this film? Night and day compared to the heap of shit that was Avengers 2.

  • If you like anything PRO cycling, you NEED to watch this, about Orica, it is a GREAT film, well made, funny, exciting, insightful.

Some excellent rider bios, particularly if you follow Esteban Chavez.

Saw it on an Air New Zealand flight, watched it out and return, eagerly awaiting the DVD in the airmail from Aus.

  • Oh wow, looks great.

  • Watched Beach rats last night, indie coming of age film about a boy who is gay but is sorta experimenting and he's really not sure. Could have went quite dark at the end but was just shite, 4/10

The crucifixion, new xavier gens film. I read the script ages ago and it had potential to be good but it was again another very crap film. Tried to be scary and jumpy but was just predictable and boring. Should have know it was gonna be crap tho as he made that film Hitman before which was also bloody terrible.
    3/10

Notorious(Conor mcgregor story) tbh it wasn't anything that they haven't told before about the irishman so really was just cashing in on his fame, although at the rate he's going he'll be in the jail soon with his antics. Not a terrible documentry but nothing great about it either.
    4/10

  • The Killing of a Sacred Deer was very good. It took a while to get out of the frame of mind it induced afterwards.

  • I worked on this! In the sound department.

it took a while to get out of the frame of mind it induced afterwards

Tell me about it, I watched it a thousand times and was very relieved when it was all over.

  • Detroit.

White people are the absolute fucking worst.

    Top movie.

  • Nice work indeed. The sound was a notable character in itself.
That odd delivery of the lines must have been a laugh to deal with over and over and over.

  • Kingsman 2 was a bit shit, lost the charm and good fight scenes of the original for an OTT plot full of holes and crap CGI made for 3D rubbish.

Good round up of 25 films of the year and ones you might have missed and to catch now.

  • ^ Personal Shopper - anyone seen?

On body and soul: Well acted and subtle love story between a man with a physical handicap and an autistic woman, who both have their own issues with isolation.

The depiction of autism is, as far as I can judge, reasonably accurate. (Note that every autistic person is different, and so is the expression or effect of the autism)

It's not a walk in the park for the character but there is no play at melodrama or pity either.

All in all some minor plot things I can complain about but the acting / not in your face love development makes up for it. And I don't even like love stories ;)

  • anyone seen That Last Jedi yet? Just reading user comments on the Grauniad review - its not looking good.....

  • I won't see it and haven't even seen any trailers, but it'll be the usual pointless and characterless paint-by-numbers crash bang wallop bollocks and not worth seeing, but people are going to have to find this out by trial and error all over again.

  • bought cheap monday tickets, can't wait

  • Taking niece and nephew to the IMAX Saturday.

Pop corn, Coca Cola, chocolate and pew pew lasers. What’s not to like.

  • Jar Jar Binks put me off the new Star Wars films for life

    *will not watch

  • Jar Jar Binks is a Sith master and Palpatine was just his puppet in creating The Empire.

There is a lengthy Reddit post that covers it very well. Plenty of clips that show him using force powers.

He uses a Nabooian version of Drunken Master kungfu, looks like a bumbling idiot but is actually a wizard of the art.

  • Die Hard at the Prince Charles theatre tonight. Xmas has arrived!
