I don't know why but I can't get my head around early repayment charges on my mortgage.
I can pay 10% without paying a charge. How much would I pay in charges if I wanted to pay 15% in one chunk for example? 1% of the value of the overpayment? Surely its not 1% of the whole of the oustanding balance? If so, the outstanding balance before or after the overpayment?
