  • Did the article not state whether the Bouchers are fluent in Spanish?

  • 'una cerveza por favor'. Fluent enough in this case surely?

  • 'and una sangria por le wifey'.

  • Very nice.

'Dos ice cream por el grandkids'. I feel like I already know the Bouchers.

  • Plenty of expat communities to join in Spain where you don't need to make any attempt to learn the local lingo (beyond ^^^ & ^^)

  • They are probably on a kipper forum denouncing the metropolitan elite and their flat whites and beard oil. (I drink black coffee and have no facial hair, not even for Movember this year).

  • I prefer the snobby, we chose here as there aren't many expats

  • I know and that just multiplies the incomprehension of their world view.

  • There's an amazing, and timely, conversation I'm eavesdropping on in the pub right now.

Chap doesn't like the owner of 'Spoons, but thinks he's bang on about the EU. Goes on to discuss his current work project, involving getting an (EU) grant over the line....

    I don't understand people.

Edit: I'm not in a Spoons - even though it's lunchtime.

  • I'm not in a Spoons

Of course you're not, not even for the cheap machine coffee. ;)

  • Spain/France whatever - these people (e.g. the Bouchers) are there on holiday/retirement.
They are not changing their nationality cos England* is the bestest in the world so there.

    • and Wales
  • The Bouchers sound like mouthy French traitors, probably only came here with the Normans, no wonder they have no loyalty. Jean-stay-brieflys the lot of them, I know the type.

  • See my Scottish ancestors were so smart, they knew in 1660 Brexit would come and pre-emptively moved to The Netherlands :p

"The East Antrim MP added that "if there is any hint that in order to placate Dublin and the EU, they're prepared to have Northern Ireland treated differently than the rest of the UK, then they can't rely on our vote".

He added: "They have to recognise that if this is about treating Northern Ireland differently, or leaving us half in the EU, dragging along behind regulations which change in Dublin, it's not on."

Ladies and gentlemen: The DUP. Again.

  • ^ well worth that 1bn

    Ha ha ha!!

  • And so say all of us

  • There is chance that I will have to return to the UK, having read through some of links posted here I am very worried that I am returning to a chocolate tea pot of a country with the kettle on the boil for the brew. I miss the UK but I'm having serious question about weather returning is a good idea and that is very sad.

  • I can't get past TM becoming PM. :(

  • I can't get past TM becoming PM. :(

Hilariously just flooring it off the cliff of the referendum is what worked.

  • I barely speak to anyone who voted leave in my day to day exchanges. Obviously it depends where you live, but in and around London nothing much has changed. Obviously there is still time but it would take a monumental shift in attitudes to make London a Brexiteer paradise.

  • Yep, just blithely powering on seems to be the trick.

    Funny that.

  • That's actually quite hard :)

  • 114 seconds and an invitation to become a politician!

  • 71 seconds and the same invitation. I haven’t got a cute Jack Russell to befriend voters though.

  • Yeah I guess London would be in its own bubble attitude wise I'm more worried about the economic troubles with large scale unemployment. Inner cities are already struggling, I can t see it getting any easier. #wearealldoomed.
