with a different cockpit, headset, seatpost, seat, brake calipers, better lever position, 700c wheels, pedals and internal cables that would be a nice bike. I like the paintjob.

I'm always late to the party.....
Just got some horizons for the sequoia .....on some hunt wheels. I'll set em up tomorrow, I'm tired from looking after the naughty kids on the course I'm instructing this week.

Yeah, I get that. I'm just wondering whether anyone has actually tried riding down a hill on a wide and narrow set of tyres and compared the difference. I reckon that unless you're going in a straight line on perfect tarmac, the fat tyres might have an edge.
Late but I've done a route with a nice descent on both my road bikes - one with 25mm Pro Ones the other with 40mm semi-slick Maxxis Re-fuses, both tubeless. Hit the exact same max speed (49.5 mph). I run the 40mm tires at ~50psi and it doesn't feel slower, gets a nice sustainable rhythm on the flats and deals with random dirt roads much better. I'd like to replace both these bikes with one fitted with ~32-35mm tires and guards.

Anyone knows whether carbon forks with a-c length around 376 but with clearance for 650 x 47 exist?
-
• #1869
I actually just bought a RLT 9 steel

Sweet - how do you like it so far? Which groupset? Checks all the boxes for me, stack and reach are where I want them.

Left out the disc part haha..
Nice to know that there is an option though.
So the revised is:

Weird that they would make a fork with a calliper mount. What on earth kind of calliper would clear a 650x47?!

I bought a 2015 frameset for €800. Haven't ridden it yet as I just sandblasted it to convert the post mount brakes to flat mount. Am planning on having a ultegra/XT di2 mix on there with some DT Swiss (240s + XR331) wheels. Will be posting it here once it's finished.
@MechaMorgan these (tektro R559) seem to come close:

Needs a CP thread! For research purposes, where'd you get it blasted and how much did they quote you?
My pet peeve is the poor transition between crown race and fork on 44mm CKs and carbon forks. How have CK not clocked the fact that almost everyone uses that headset with a carbon fork
