I had a 1999 Blazer. All the cliches about quality and economy are true, but I liked it.
I picked out the tyre lettering in white for max yank awesomeness points and then rode everywhere with Mobb Deep ripping out of the windows.

If you've got the cash go for it.
Cherokee sport might be a practical compromise, as at least you can find parts and can easily insure it. Find a green one and add some wood grain vinyl. Maybe a lift and DIY roof rack with the spare tyre mounted ontop.

my first foray into cars will be a strange one, never really liked cars except american ones. everybody wants to put me off them, too big, annoying if you need parts, insurance, but i really don't want to get a car if I'm not gonna enjoy it.
quite a few old chevy blazers come up on eBay for cheepz.
i want something that can carry quite a few people, and that we can throw all the bikes in, but with a touch of redneck.
anybody else see it as an awful idea?
