That's a beautiful guitar.
My next build is a Les Paul. I've never been a huge fan but there's something about a goldtop; I've always wanted one (the epiphone 52 reissue i had didn't really scratch the itch... )
I'm trying to decide which is better for mine - going spendy on a quilted bit of timber for it or putting in the time to lacquer it to get something looking like that.

My ideal Les Paul would be a single pickup R4 with a Goldfinger (every nook and cranny) gold finish... Too, too sexy...
