I'd go for airlock too.
Have you got thermostatic valves?

Might just need balancing. I've been down the replacement TRV, checking for airlocks route before only to see an experienced plumber go round the house and balance the heat in the radiators inside 15mins. Of course the tenants usually screw it up in a week!
