Good. Deep filling with some recognisable bits of apple in the bites of the mince. Not terribly strongly spiced though and needed more flavour. Slightly cake-y pastry, not crisp, and a touch thick but it held together beautifully when you bite through it. I hate a mince pie that falls to bits after the first bite. A solid 8/10

Just bagged a rare white label double: Co-Op fresh bakery "Irresistible" mincers. These are true, old school double-height dubplates, and for me the booziest I've tried this season.
If you can find them, get them. But at a full quid for two, not for the casual fan.

Yes. Retro and I'm at an age where I like to be whisked back to another, sweeter, tooth-rotting life stage; junior school Xmas parties finished off with an iced mince pie, brought home wrapped in a tissue in a pocket and totally unrecognisable and inedible when mum found it next day.
