Its so funny. Listening to 5 Live of late you'd think that Tottenham had won the league such is the hype surrounding them. But in reality they are as far away as they've ever been.

Only a month ago, we were at that part of the Spurs boom/bust cycle, where someone behind the scenes has to find out if both Chas AND Dave are still alive, and approach them to record an 'amusing' song about Spurs. Sack that off for another 2 or 3 years.

I've said it before, Spurs had their chance to win the league two years ago and bottled the big games, largely because Pochettino couldn't handle the pressure in the games that mattered and that spread onto the pitch. The problem with their big name players is they always thought they'd have more opportunities to win it - someone should've told them that they wouldn't...without moving clubs. If you're not one of the Premier League elite, and Spurs aren't, you have to seize your chance - they didn't, fortunately Leicester did. Corney once said something about their "difficult second album", I'm still wondering what the first one was...

Still, a nice pair of goals from Vardy and Mahrez if you get a chance to see them.

Pat Nevin was on Radio 4 yesterday morning talking about it. For all that @andyp criticises the BBC sports coverage, I think he is great. Very sharp and sardonic.
