Oh here's a good one.
Not knowing how much is on my oyster card and no shops around, debating whether I should wait 25 mins for a bus or just start walking. All a bus stop needs is a reader that tells you how much you have.

Yes but this happened to me the other day and I didn't have any other way of paying than oyster. I had cash and fortunately for me it was worth waiting the 25 minutes.
