  • OK this'll probably get me banned but the Heston ones from Waitrose are mindblowing. Bit of office debate as to whether they actually are a true mince pie or not (covered mince tart?)

  • Heston

Do you have to eat them wearing a welders' helmet
with piece of salsify smeared with ambergris up one nostril,
    and,
a parsnip cold marinated in a myrrh/honey sauce up the other?

  • On an experimental/ambient vibe. Nice. Would it play well to a traditional crowd? Doubt it, but for the boundary-pushers over at future-mincer-forums.net that will go down well.

  • These were great, found them a while back when they were on for £2.25 for four (and then extra % off again if you do the waitrose club discount thing online, name them as your "regular everyday item").

Iced mince pie is acceptable but not a thing you can find in Scotland, the whole country hates fruit inside cake like items. Means super discount Christmas puds are easy to come by though as not many other English up here. Still have about 8 good ones from last year.
