  • Cheers, forgive me if I am sounding a bit stupid, but how would that help? The braking surface on the pads are pretty much the same width as the braking surface on the rims, so how would having thinning spacers solve the problem? I am just thinking when the pads are pressed against the rims, wouldn't the contact points and angles be the same regardless of what spacers to use? Obviously, then it'd be a case of setting it up like @BlackMath says?

  • Look at the caliper from the front: the pads move in an arc.

    Reducing the spacer stack means that arc is closer to the pivot point of the arm.
