Fry.jpg
Edit: Probably came across as more of a dick than I intended here. I meant Fry in the "not sure if trolling" sense, not the "not sure if moron" sense. Anyway it appears I'm out of step with popular opinion on naming convention, so what the hell. It's just bikes at the end of the day.

But is it common on bicycles? A rear triangle isn't a fork is it? Have I been living a lie?

On a conventional rigid bicycle, the rear triangle is a pair of forks. If you're going to get upset about any tautology, you should be wailing and gnashing your teeth every time somebody refers to a front fork as a pair of forks :)

It's these newfangled pairs of trousers that really annoy me.
-
• #1081
Well, they're not called 'track fork ends' for no reason, right?

Knickers, boxers, panties, briefs, Y-fronts, etc.

It's not a pluralisation thing, I just think a gentleman should wear pantaloons.

Haha no problem

Video be like:
Look, the engineering is so clever you can ride it almost as easily as a 2 wheel bike.
Consumers be like:
I think I’ll just get a 2 wheel bike thx.

I expect I’m missing the point.

What are they claiming the point is?

You can look like you're riding a tricycle backwards, which is pretty rad.

Same as the Piaggio MP3's selling point - you're much less likely to lose the front end than you are on a bicycle. I have a feeling that what is a nice idea for nervous moped riders is less of a good idea for an e-bike.

You can do that with any tadpole, you don't need the e-assist or the leaning linkage.

I suppose if you have mobility or balance issues it'd be easier to use

Needs a basket on the back, like the one in the video.

This is all I could think of.
Same as the Piaggio MP3's selling point
That it defeats all the practical advantages of a scooter - filtering, manoeuvring etc. - and solves none of the disadvantages - weather, safety etc. ?
Both are the answer to a non-question.
Tho there are a lot of 3 wheel scoots in Paris for some reason.

The only purpose I could think of was patrolling policemen.
Stable at walking speed, no motor noise to hinder interaction with the public and the ability to take off with considerable speed in pursuit.Pretty much stupid for any other purpose though.

Bingo there.
Since the most e-bikes are sold to people aged 50+*, there could be a market here. Note the ultra-upright position and low step-through frame also.
* obviously I have no citation for this.
It's not tautologous - many single track vehicles use a rear fork to join the frame to the rear axle. In fact, on STVs with rear suspension, arrangements other than a trailing fork are the exception rather than the rule.
