As above, I would think there is an automatic “contract” between company and customer. Her end is that she pays and their end is that they provide a service. Once they stop providing said service, they have broken their end of the contract. Explain to the bank. I had somewhat similar with utility bill for other tenants usesge and it was written off or at least removed from being my responsibility once this was proven.
