Ha! Nice to have met you! Yeah, if recommend a fit with Simon, he knows what he's doing and is quite competitively priced, especially if you have more than 1 bike

Well in the scenario of spruced up Trek 1.2 vs new Canyon it's more logical.... I think!?
Although maybe not the most practical bike, I do love it. -

I rest my case your honour

I am contemplating Ultimate or Endurace for 2018 .. Endurace in same size (although taller) has shorter wheelbase ?! Plus the potential of slamming and a longer stem is high .. how does it ride? Whats the max tyre clearance?

• #106
Although does have hydro'

Depends where it will sit amongst the other bikes you have?
The Ultinate geo is more aggressive, not sure if this is a long wheel base feature but down hill it feels very stable. I'll take some pics, I'm running 25's

Thats my internal struggle atm. I owe it to Moots to take it to Alps so maybe 2019 for Canyon. I am also a shit descender, there is some gravel involved in the alpine riding this year too. Moots has 2mm tyre clearance at chainstay #YOLO
Thanks for the pics! Looks like a 30/32 will easily go in there.

I've got 28c GP4KSII on my Ultimate with regular brakes and I could probably go bigger
-

Asked Canyon, they said 25mm 'official' clearance .. 28c Maxxis padrone on Velocity Aileron asking for trouble? @MechaMorgan
Also whats the bar reach and drop on H36 Aerocockpit?
-
• #111
I have no experience with either of those things but without much thought I would say ‘yeah should be fine’
Bar reach and drop is p normal from memory

Bar reach and drop is p normal from memory
I need numbers goddamit! H11 was 70mm reach and 128mm drop. Found some info here: https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/accessories/brands/?brand=CANYON#id=61696
Also looks like plenty of clearance on @GoatandTricycle 's frame with 25s on extremely similar profile rim as Aileron. So yeah ..

Just a thought I ride an XL.
I'm never too sure how they scale frames from the designed size. -
• #114
Mine is a Small. Absolutely tonnes of room.
You are right however, it's a risk unless you can try a frame beforehand.

• #115
@GoatandTricycle did you get a wahoo in the end?
-
• #116
I certainly did. And a mount from raceware. How come?
-
• #117
Just wondering how you’re finding it. Just ordered a bolt. 20% off with RCC
-
• #118
Yeah got the bundle from Condor cheapest I could find.
It's great so far, not used it much but set up with the app is very intuitive. Makes me want a power meter and Strava premium though -
• #119
Played around any more with your fit on the canyon?
-
• #120
Nope, fairly happy at the moment.
Ask me after I attempt the festive 500 -
• #121
Yeah I think I'll wait to chop my steerer until after new year
-
• #122
Looking at a similar build but with SRAM groupset. How you finding the bike?
-
• #123
Simply the best bike I’ve owned.
It makes me smile every time I ride it.
I find it particularly good down hill.Plan to ride Paris-Roubaix on it in April. Will add a chain catcher, probably buy a second hanger at the same time. Also going tubeless up to 28’s I think.
Might be able to squeeze larger on but I’ll be happy with 28’sCanyon service/ support still has quite a bit to be desired from my limited interactions with them which is a shame as the products from my experience are great.

And helicopter tape on drive side chainstay
-
• #125
It has that already. Although may add another strip.
Does anyone do a kinda B.B. shell curved pre cut one?
More annoyingly I have foot rub on both crank arms despite putting patches on them!!
Haha it’s not a loaded statement. Just that if you’re head over heart then you’re thinking logically more than passionately. And I feel like if that was the case, you wouldn’t end up with a blue carbon Canyon :P
It’s a cracking bike don’t get me wrong.
