  • I was fitting a rear centre-pull earlier to a frame I'd riden fixed before.
    The bracket I'd made to fit the guard was held on with a dome headed m5 bolt that interfered with getting the nut on the end of the brake bolt.
    If only I had a short countersunk M5 bolt in my random bolts jam jar ...

  • I need a bracket exactly like that to fit my rear guard this weekend. I see SJS sell flimsy ones for a few quid but I’m not paying that, plus postage. What’s yours made from. It almost looks cast.

    I have a sheet of brass that I’ll probably just make a 90 degree bracket from.

  • It's a thick piece of aluminium sheet I bent in a vice with a hammer then used a file and sandpaper to sort out the shape. The Ali is really easy to work.
    The face that meets the guard is curved so no fretting or rattles. Leather washer at brake bridge.
