I had the misfortune of having one of those yesterday. A soggy mess, incredibly disappointing.

Thanks for the tip.
Whilst I would probably need the 35 mile round trip to Vauxhall, to burn off the calories of eating (a whole) one, I'll check stock in the Tesco Hoover Building. -

Ok. Bought my custard injector and need a recommendation for mincers with a gap. Coop Truly Irresistible were mentioned earlier. It's not a done deal. I'm expecting to experiment with custard consistency and the nozzle, as well as setting times.

I knew there'd be at least one custard injector response....just one?

Waitrose Mince Pies from the fresh bakery counter. Disappoint. Truly awful filling to pastry ratio and the filling was more "syrup" than fruit.

Was sorely tempted by the good-looking mincers at the M&S cafe this afternoon, but my inner ancestral Yorkshireman recoiled at paying £2 for one.

I bought a 6 pack from Greggs yesterday. The filling was much the same. Disapointment.

Seriously. Bigup the Lidl Favorinas. A seriously weighty release from this Berlin-based label that's making big waves on the UK scene.

I despise mince pies, but this thread did result in a trip to Lidl and me stuffing an entire packet of Lebekuchen into my face

The heavy, heavy mini stollen remix on the B-side is getting big plays at Berghain

Had my first mince pie of the year this weekend. Gorgonzola and mince pie is a winning combo.

Not many folks could find a rhyming word for mince pies Vanneau. Well done.....😀

Lidl are doing a mince pie ice cream. It's pretty good, the ice cream could be better but the rest is ok

I'm sure I've had Christmas Pudding ice cream before, which was pretty legendary.

We're doing reviews at work and Lidl scored poorly. Oddly sour filling with disappointing pastry. Tesco's finest currently in the lead.

I'm not being funny but you probably work with people who aren't really into mince pies and just buy a box or two each Christmas.
This thread is about mince pie appreciation, so mainstream views like the ones coming out of your workplace are cool and I totally get them, but you can't expect them to really carry a lot of weight with the dedicated online communities who live for mincers.

Despite being a bake yer own mincers aficionado I thought I'd give these a try. Iceland Luxury pack of 6 washed down with a drop of Cuban. For shop-bought, rather good. Full to the buttery crispy lid. 2 down. What's the harm of another?

Want.
Tesco are doing mincemeat filled cookies. Just had one with a single raisin in it but was otherwise just a cookie. Bit disappointing when the picture on the bag makes them look like xmas eccles cakes.
