Might be the traction control tell-tale?
It just means there is a current 'Check Control' message stored, backed up by the bright yellow low fuel symbol, it stays up once the main yellow symbol disappears, any current messages will repeat themselves when you switch off the ignition.
Ignore, its sold now anyway and its prob the fuel warning. As already mentioned it was the same on my E61 as well
