Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a road incident involving a cyclist in Dagenham.
Police were called at 18.35hrs on Saturday 18, November to Rainham Road South near the junction with Surrey Road, following a collision which led to a cyclist being seriously injured.
At this early stage it is thought that two cars, one of which is believed to have been stationary, were involved.
The cyclist, a male in his 50s, was taken to hospital. His condition is described as critical.
A man in his 40s [A] and a woman in her 30s [B] were arrested on suspicion of driving whilst intoxicated. [B] has been released under investigation and [A] is currently in custody at an east London police station.
