You can get polished alloy compacts, from the likes of TA and Stronglight, so probably worth checking them out.
I assume you want polished alloy for that retro look?

Spa Cycles have some nice looking one that you can choose with TA ring.
Even the one with the cheap ring costing £25 work well.
