  • Would love to, but the flight cost from OZ would kill me :/

I used to have a yepp seat and back rack since a while ago, and was planning to move onto a tag along, as kid's just getting too heavy and big for it. However, I have gone off the idea for now, as there's heavy traffic roads we have to cross, and we had a few bike related mishaps with her. I desperately want to avoid a 4th lot of stitches on her chin, so I am looking for other options that will let me keep an eye on her, unlike a tag along. Also groceries etc, n+1, etc.

Right now what happens is an avoidable 4 minute drive, and that is just plain silly.

I've been trawling pictures on insta for examples of kids on Omniums

    looked cool.

I'm thinking some kind of back rest foam block and an inner tube or re-used car seat belt wrapped around the hips, and we could be in business.

Been taught how to build wheels and keen to have another go. Also I've got a spare Ultegra groupset and a wolf tooth road link lying about. Omnium minimax with drop handle bars and massive XT cassette maybe?

  • A friend of mine use a baby car seat on his Omnium (I guess they all have safety belts?). Jimmi who took the pics is a nice guy, I'm sure he could give you some tips if you would email him.
Oh, and the mini-max is awesome. Get one, you won't regret it.

  • First step: check what the price for the frameset will be after AustraliaTax(tm).

Pretty sure I won't be allowed to spend too much by the household finance minister, but I think of this as an "avoid car journeys for anything >7km" kindo thing, so could pay for itself with grocery runs etc as well.
