  • My old man drove about in his work van for 9 months with no tax purely because he never got the reminder and then didnt realise. Came out a job one day and had a clamp on his van. Had to pay the fine and get the road tax that he would have done anyway had he realised.

Proper shit show it was, and that is all down to the doing away of tax discs and trying to save money which in effect makes people forget and not pay. Also fuck knows how he never got stopped by the police consider he drove it min 5 days a week... Joke

I dunno about anyone else but I've got mine on direct debit now because I will forget.

BTW he was insured and had mot, just no tax.

Its also a bastard that tax doesn't carry over when you are buying and selling as many things now.

  • Do they send a reminder? I can't remember... Road tax, council tax, parking permits... Paying and tracking all that kind of stuff seems wierdly untraceable and half arsed.

  • See this is the thing, sometimes they do sometimes they dont. I have about 8 things that I should get reminders for myself and tbh I dont think I get more than 4 a year. Its a fuckin joke now the DVLA.

And then when you complain about it they just say we sent you out them, so my postman who has delivery to me for 10 years has started stealing the reminders, I dont think so....

  • I just got mine this week. Awful timing having it mid November and MOT December. No presents again this year kids - let's have a sit in the car instead.
